The other day I went out to photograph Red Squirrels, after many hours of waiting to get a couple of shots I moved onto another area where I wanted to get some landscape shots. When I got there, there were some large black clouds gathering in the distance which were heading my way. Confident that a storm was coming I set up my camera to try and capture this menacing collection of clouds against the bright blue sky that surrounded it. I shot mainly my images for HDR processing due to the amount of highlights in the clouds which i didn’t want to lose any detail from which would have happened if I had done a normal exposed for this shot. The top shot isn’t an HDR image because I was able to edit the sky without losing any detail but the bottom shot is a HDR image. Click On The Image For A Larger View

Click On Image For A Larger View I had no intention on photographing this Red Squirrel this morning, I was mainly going out for landscape shots but I thought I’d take my 300mm f/2.8 anyway because you never know. I’m glad I listened to myself because in my area I haven’t seen any Red Squirrels in a long time so it was really nice to stumble across this little chap. After sitting and waiting for 3 hours I only fired 7 shots but I’m very confident that when I go back, he will still be there. Canon EOS 7D, Canon 300mm f/2.8L IS, Tripod
